Session Information

This session explores ideas to make computing more efficient in terms of energy, time, cost, or something else, or to enable new computing applications, with optical technologies. We solicit papers on topics including, but not limited to, the following:
  • Data center distribution/virtualization with optical technologies
  • Electronic Packet Switch / Optical Circuit Switch hybrid networking
  • New data transfer method for distributed/disaggregated computing over high-speed and low-latency WANs
  • Federation/integration of clouds and edges with high-speed and low-latency WANs
  • Federated learning/inferencing that leverages high-speed and low-latency WANs
  • MLOps infrastructure that leverages high-speed and low-latency WANs
  • Efficient collective communication/computing with optical technologies
  • New computing applications/algorithms enabled by optical technologies
  • Computing with optical technologies
